By using the Life At app and its Life at Penn State campus service, you agree to these terms.
Independent service
Life At is an independent, student-built project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by The Pennsylvania State University. University names and marks belong to their respective owners.
What the app is
A personal dashboard for schedules, goals, campus locations, friends, and student chat. You can compare schedule details that another student chooses to share. Campus data, rooms, and event details may be out of date. Check your university's official sources for registration, deadlines, and building access.
Your account and your data
- You are responsible for what you put in your workspace and post in chat.
- You may load only data you are entitled to use, such as your own schedule.
- Do not copy, publish, or misuse schedule or living details shared with you.
- You can delete your data and account at any time.
Community rules
You agree not to:
- Post harassment, threats, hate speech, or slurs.
- Post illegal content, including any sexual content involving minors.
- Share or solicit graded coursework, exam content, or anything that would violate your university's academic-integrity rules or a course's rules.
- Spam, impersonate others, or attempt to break or overload the service.
Messages may be moderated, hidden after reports, or removed. The app may suspend access for violations. Every message in campus chat and in a friend group chat can be reported, and its author can be blocked, from the message itself; you can delete your own messages. Blocking hides the two of you from each other everywhere in the app and ends any friendship between you. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Illegal content may be reported to the appropriate authorities. Child sexual abuse material will be reported to NCMEC as required by law.
Academic integrity
The app does not do coursework for you and is not a substitute for your own work. Using it, or its chat, to cheat is a violation of these terms and, separately, of your university's academic-integrity rules, which apply to you regardless of this app.
Availability and disclaimer
The app is provided "as is," without warranties. It may change or go offline. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the app or from reliance on information shown in it.
Content from others
The app is not responsible for messages or content posted by other users. Those users are responsible for what they post.
Changes
These terms may change, and material changes will be posted here with a new date.
Contact and abuse reports
To report abuse, ask a question, or appeal a moderation decision, email liam.gergen@gmail.com. In-app, any campus chat message can also be reported directly.
